Anyone?

I'm from the old school I guess, and although it's kind of hard to pick just
one favorite,...I kinda like "Snake". It was nice to see him continue on
and become one of the teacher's. And lately he's been dealt his share of
blows with the "Next Generation". He's a fine actor indeed. When I look
back at the "Junior High" series,...he's come a long way. I also hope to
see more of Joey and Caitlin in the near future.

So, how about it? From those who have followed the series from the very
beginning, to those who have just become acquainted with the "The Next
Generation" series of Degrassi installments,..let's hear it.

I actually liked Dwayne and his "gang" that picked on Joey who deserved
some of that abuse. I wish they had some role in the next generation.
The relationship with Tabby and Dwayne I wish could have been followed
up as they were best friends for a long time and then he developed HIV.
Dwayne even had a truce with Joey when he found out the secret and
tried to defend him.

I wish Wheels were on more. Kathleen would also be a good one to revisit.

As far as the new generation, I really like Manny. Sure, she may be
"loose" but she only did it because she wanted to be liked.

Boy, do I wish there was more parental interaction so we could see
exactly why these kids can get screwed up. At least we have a glimpse
of Liberty's and Manny's home life.

There are two characters I really hate - Ashley and Jimmy. Both are so
self-absorbed, unforgiving, and kind of stuck up. Ashley is the worst
between the two, especially as she moved from popular girl to goth girl
to band girl...blah!

I certainly do remember Dwayne and what transpired into the next installment
of the series. I agree, they should have brought him back.

I don't recall Tabby. That would have been in the Degrassi High series I
would imagine.

That remains in my head. I think the whole scene took place in the washroom
if I'm not mistaken.

Did they not show him at the very beginning of the "Next Generation"? I
don't think he ever amounted to anything but I could be mistaken. I'm with
you though, it would be nice to bring back Wheels, and Kathleen for that
matter. Although she wasn't exactly a favorite character of mine.

Funny how things worked out in the end of this last season. Manny,...the
mixed up "wannabee", kind of straightens herself out and comes to the aid of
Emma. There's your reverse roles for you. That's what I like about the
writing on "Degrassi".

Don't forget Marco's home life as well.

You brought up an interesting point, and one that was neglected to a degree
in the "Next Generation" installments. "Junior High" was much different in
that aspect. You were introduced to the majority of the parents of the main
characters.

Hmm,...interesting. I kind of always liked Jimmy and if I go by the end of
this past season, we'll start to see a much different side to him next year.
Ashley was okay in the beginning, but she kind of wore on me as the seasons
went on. Looks like she may be making frequent appearances next season,
too.
